N1 Theatre Company presents The Merry Wives of Windsor, directed by Paul Jaynes and performed by our second year undergraduate cohort for a limited run at The Courtyard Theatre.
This modern day interpretation of Shakespeare’s only comedy set in England takes us along to follow the bumbling attempts of Sir John Falstaff to woo Mistress Ford and Mistress Page in order to boost his own economic position.
This adaptation takes into account recent political shenanigans and upheavals and the increasing awareness of gender politics. A story of wealth, jealousy, marriage and lies, and (in contrast to today) the celebration of a new nation.
