Application

 

To apply for a place on the BA (Hons) Acting degree course throughout the year, please fill out the online Application Form.

Applications are also accepted through UCAS, the online service for applying to Universities, using the course details below:

If you have submitted your application through our website and have been offered a place, we will require a UCAS application to be completed as well. Following receipt of your completed Application Form, you will receive an invitation to audition. Applications are accepted throughout the Academic Year as the admission process is ongoing.

There’s a £15 audition booking fee which will be fully refunded on completion of your audition.

 

Audition

 

The audition process is utilised to assess the suitability of applicants for the training and will occur in person at The Courtyard Theatre, directions can be found here.

For the audition you are required to prepare two contrasting pieces of no more than two minutes in length:

  • A Shakespeare, or alternative playwright from the same period
  • A contemporary piece from a modern play (1980 onwards)

It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of both plays.

 

Interview

 

Following the performance of your pieces, there will be a short interview and we expect to hear from you:

  • Why you have chosen to apply to Court Theatre Training Company?
  • What you believe you will gain from the training?
  • Why studying with us may be a particularly useful experience for you?

Shortly after your interview, you will be informed whether we would like to offer you a place on the course. Your offer might be conditional on achieving the required 80 UCAS points for entry from your exam results.

 

Entry Requirements

 

The following requirements need to be met for entry onto our degree course:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old; there is not an upper age limit and we welcome applications from mature applicants.
  • 80 UCAS points if you have recently studied a qualification that has a UCAS tariff. equivalence; mature applicants do not require UCAS points for entry.
  • A successful audition and interview.
  • UK Citizen or have settled or pre-settled status in the UK.
