Showcasing Acting Training at the FDS & CUK Performing Arts HE Training and Careers Fair

On Wednesday 22nd October, the Court Theatre Training Company had the pleasure of taking part in the FDS & CUK Performing Arts HE Training and Careers Fair at Leeds City College. The event brought together leading drama schools, and industry professionals to support aspiring performers as they explore pathways into higher education and the performing arts.

Throughout the day, our team engaged with hundreds of students seeking guidance on their next steps in actor training. Dave Bourn, our Deputy Director of Studies (Improvisation & Devising), led a highly engaging devising workshop that encouraged participants to explore spontaneity, collaboration, and storytelling through movement and improvisation. Meanwhile, our Executive Director, Paul Taylor, joined two acting panels, offering valuable insights into professional actor training, industry preparation, and what makes Court Theatre Training Company’s approach distinctive.

The fair also provided a fantastic opportunity for networking with educators, and fellow training institutions. As the newest member of the Federation of Drama Schools (FDS) — and the first to join since its founding — we were proud to represent our ethos of professional, accessible, and performance-led actor training.

We also shared details about our 2-year accelerated BA (Hons) Acting degree, validated by Buckinghamshire New University, which provides students with a rigorous education within a creative and supportive environment.
