The Court Theatre Training Company goes MADD!

Our upcoming outreach audition and workshop for our BA (Hons) Acting course at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD College) in Nottingham on Thursday May 23rd, 2024, marks a crucial step towards inclusivity and accessibility in the world of performing arts education.

Amidst the challenges posed by the current living crisis, this decision reflects our company’s dedication to breaking down barriers and ensuring that talented individuals have the opportunity to pursue their passion for acting.

By hosting this audition and workshop at MADD College, the Court Theatre Training Company is not only providing a platform for actors to showcase their skills but also creating a more equitable and diverse landscape within the industry. This initiative underscores the importance of making performing arts education accessible to everyone.

Through this outreach effort, the company is not just casting for talent but casting a wider net of opportunity, empowering aspiring actors to pursue their dreams and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of the theatrical world.

Schedule For the Day: 

– Welcome message from Paul Jaynes (Director of Studies) and Paul Taylor (Director of Development) at The Court Theatre Training Company.

– General discussion on the do’s and don’ts of drama school auditions.

– Engaging acting workshop exploring the basic principles of the acting craft.

– Opportunity for participants to audition with prepared speeches* for the Court Theatre Training Company’s 2-year accelerated BA (Hons) Acting program.

– Q&A session to address any queries or concerns.

 

*A prepared speech is not obligatory for this workshop and audition.

Please Note: Participants must be 18 years old by the start of the course.
